This is a sneek peek at what will be my Emperor's Throne display.
The idea for this dio came to me when I got the POTF Final Jedi Duel scene off Ebay, but I realized there is a problem with it...it was awkwardly designed. Honestly, who makes a scene 9.5" long and 3" wide?!

I knew I had to fix this scene as it felt too much like I was watching Luke walk the plank on Grand-pappy Palpatine's pirate ship. However, I would feel bad too cutting up the plastic base and just having the throne stand alone, as I have seen other collectors do.
I wanted my version to feel a little closer to the film and be able to display the original toy safely without having to trim plastic. After brainstorming, I realized I could make this look pretty close to the final scene if I just make it a 90 degree angle and just match the corners diagonally.
Here is a pic of the layers of Styrene Plasticard I had to weld together to get the base flush with the toy. All of the plastic used was from scrap I had laying around and finally got to use some of it! Gotta keep it cheap!

I matched the floor pattern on one side so that it did not look to out of place. I also added some support to the back so that the POTF base could lock in securely.
Here it is with all the pieces together!
For just junk styrene, I think this is staring off well. It will need a few more additions before going to the paint box, but this is where it started. The next time I post it'll be about five to six inches tall with a small stair case and possibly two stations for engineers or guards.
See ya then!
